The wealthiest woman in the world is openly struggles with us to gain comfort with our bodies, but says little about that nappy head.
FYI: Tyra Banks had a wonderful episode about this.

No O hasnt worn braids on her show. She is currently wearing her hair though, no weave or wigs.

    ” Straight hair …
    ” Straight hair fantasy…” – > This
    means what?

    ” nappy hair=disgusting!”
    - >Nappy hair is negative. Just like
‘dredlocks’. AfrAm, Hispanic, Asian, middle easter, arabic, etc have thicker curly hair. Their hair isnt nappy. If grandmoms, mom, aunts, sisters, cousins, friends would stop w the negative words, out young girls wouldnt in grain a shame of their hair in their minds.

Just as locs arent ‘dreadful locks’ ( what the anglos named the style saying it looks dreadful).

    Straight hair …
Straight hair fantasy, nappy hair=disgusting! How many times has Oprah appeared on her own show with her own texture?

    Do u do research …
Do u do research 1st ? O’s interview w Whitney was O’s real hair, no wigs or weave :
    bvnewswire dot c o m /2009/04/25/oprah-winfrey-proving-she-doesn-t-wear-weave-with-never-before

Whitney does wear wigs & that is her choice.

You dont know them or every lady.
Wigs & weaves are worn to give 1’s own hair a rest, for easier manageability, & to change 1’s look. Yes there are some who dont like their naturally curly hair, but that is not the reason that every lady wears a wig or weave.

    Tyra talks about …
Tyra talks about skin/hair but still wears light makeup & weavs so her talk is just talk. Now she is wearing her hair occasionally, & only bc the mighty O did it first. Tyra wants to be O so she copies what O does, from giveaways to showing real hair.

    Please see Tyra’s …
Please see Tyra’s interviews about skin and hair. She’s well aware of what’s going on with image she produces.

And I know far too many sisters whose self esteem won;t allow them to wear their own hair. Just looking at Oprah
s interview with Whitney- there’s more Asian hair between those two than in Asia. THEY hate nappy hair!!!

    diepiriye : Wrong, …
diepiriye : Wrong, you are the bitch. You giving props 2 Tyra in your decription box is an abonimation as Tyra has done more to push unrealistic standards of beauty than O.

Not all ladies have the $ that both O & Tyra have to maintain their natural hair, so they wear wigs & weaves. If u did research it is a way to protect their hair. Now there are those who do wear it bc they have low self esteem. They are the ones we have to work on reforming.

    diepiriye : “nappy …
    diepiriye : “nappy head” ?
U calling it that is exactly why O relaxes her hair and y ladies STUPIDLY relax their daughters hair as early as age 4. My hair is not nappy. After I wash it it is tighly curled, tightly curly. It is not nappy.

When Oprah was a newscaster back in Baltimore, afros were still quite popular :) I think it is more of a matter of what an individual likes.

    Many have often …
Many have often criticized Oprah for having so much money and yet she does not even consider getting the egregious bags under her eyes removed(very much like the video maker’s own) and getting a nose job; I think your assessment should be more balanced. there are many who might criticize you for not wearing dreadlocks or not sporting a humble Cesar haircut, rather than exploring the vanities of longer hair

    In spirit, one is …
In spirit, one is being him/herself by taking on whatever appearance the mind chooses; try some meditation techniques on shape-shifting. It will show you that you truly are not this mind or this body; but you are the Pure Soul, choosing to explore the diversity of your own desires.

When she visits her school in South Africa she gets her hair braided, but works that conk as soon as she crosses the Atlantic. Middle Passage is a bitch.

    When Oprah got her …
When Oprah got her first big break in Baltimore, Maryland she was the first to wear a bush on the news…she was a news reporter before she became the billioniare she is today. After she left Baltimore and got her talkshow is when she started having her hair permed. She has thick lovely hair, especially in it’s natural state.

    i found the music …
i found the music distracting. the rest – well, it’s like taking a peek at a totally different reality. interesting stuff, no doubt, but unless you have ‘nappy hair’ yourself it’s confined to – oh, i guess you know what i mean.

You seem to get some benefit from putting people down without any constructive criticism. You probably don’t know what that means, so consider yourself blocked. No time for foolishness.

I hear you sister, but I am not buying. I grew up with Black women and have watched the daily trials and tribulations through fros, curls, perms, braids, weaves, wigs, bleach, color, cuts and all. There’s a lot of pressure to conform by any means necessary. Just look at the audience Essence has clearly identified: Girls and women willing to dry-out, damage, perm AND then repair (a clue that this sh*t shouldna been done i the first place). @lilkunta

OK, fair enough. Fair enough, until we consider Chris Rocks’ appearance on Tyra and Oprah following his Good Hair flic. I respect the fact that Oprah has a head full of well cared for hair, but make no mistake, she ain’t ready to shift. @lilkunta
